Reactive Dog Training in Derby

Does your dog …

  • feel super nervous / apprehensive / insecure / fearful in new or different situations?

  • become reactive - whether that’s growl / bark / lunge / flip themselves up in the air - when certain triggers are visible?

  • usually LOVE food but stops wanting to eat / take treats in certain scenarios? (e.g. when triggers are present, when in a particular place or when you’re not there)

My Nervous Dog to Relaxed Dog Private Client Program can help!

My private client dog training programme has been especially designed for reactive, nervous or anxious dogs. Whether they are super attached to you, become reactive to dogs out on walks, pull your arms off to get back home because they’re so worried.

It’s an extensive program that is totally bespoke to each and every client. I’m here to support you every step of the way and will celebrate the wins as we go.

The knowledge, skills and experience I’ve built have allowed me to create this premium, supportive package where we work together to transform your stressed, worried dog with low confidence into a resilient dog who no longer growl, bark, lunge or react to triggers - just like Tracey & Beau, who I talk more about in the case study below.

Compassionate, science-led training is my jam. I’ve spent lots of time and money to build a solid training toolbox with everything you need to work with your dog to recognise and transform their nervousness into confidence.

“ Mitch has been near three people so far wearing big headphones / ear muffs and no growls... overall, walks are way less reactive”

1:1 Dog Training Client
anxious dog training in derby
  • has low confidence - is reactive, stressed (excessive panting, drooling, cowering, tail tucked under bum, ears pinned back to head etc.)

  • is anxious in new / different situations - going to new places, seeing new things on walks (like statues, plastic bags etc.)

  • is nervous when meeting new people or dogs

  • becomes scared or barks whenever there’s a sound (e.g. car doors/fireworks/dogs barking/door knocks)

  • seems hyper vigilant on walks - head darting around and not walking calmly (pulling and not able to sniff)

  • is reactive (e.g. lunges/pulls/growls/barks) when they see triggers

  • follows you around the house, even to the loo

The private client package is for you!

If your dog…

  • Sian's ability to identify the causes of challenging behavioural problems with my 7 yr old Pomeranian (living with an elderly shih tzu) in a complex household has been phenomenal. She has listened, observed, explained and guided us humans to bring out the best in my dogs and we are all much happier together as a result. Sian is an absolute star. Having come across various dog trainers over the years, I genuinely believe that her approach is the only one which properly takes into account the best needs of the dogs lucky enough to receive her care.

Private Client Dog Training Case Study

Client: 10 month old Springer Spaniel, Beau

Training Overview:

  • Big anxiety and fear responses around new people, new dogs and certain sounds, like barking and bangs.

  • Huge attachment to his person and couldn’t cope when she left the room or the house, even to pop to the car.

  • Aversion to harness & lead being clipped on.

His humans worked super hard on fully supporting him through their training plan, they also attended several of my socialisation classes at Darley Abbey Village Hall.

  • Beau has transformed from a dog with fear, anxiety and conflicting emotions to choosing to calmly engage with new things when he wishes to. He also had his very first short, no pressure play time with a new dog friend in one of the socialisation classes.

  • He is now happy when his human goes upstairs; this was somewhere he would ALWAYS previously follow her! He can also now comfortably cope when she leaves the house for a short time (this will be an ongoing work in progress to continue to improve.)

  • He happily has his harness and lead popped on without issue for a walk

Beau’s people said several times that he is a different dog now and were so happy with his progress throughout the program.

What a training transformation! This too could be you and your dog!
